Tim Packman hired as FASTRAK General Manager
FASTRAK Companies International, LLC, the parent company for the FASTRAK Racing Series and ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series, has hired Tim Packman as the company’s new General Manager.
Packman brings more than 25 years of racing experience to the already solid family of FASTRAK Racing Series. He will work closely with Stan Lester, President, and DJ Irvine, Vice President, to continue the growth and maintain what FASTRAK has already achieved in their 17 years of existence.
Prior to FASTRAK, Packman was President of Lancaster (NY) National Speedway & Dragway where he earned Short Track Promoter of the Year honors in 2016 and 2017. He also has career experience in NASCAR working for Richard Childress Racing, Dale Earnhardt, Inc., MRN Radio and NASCAR.com. He is also a multiple-time award-winning author and writer.
“It is great to get back to the Grass Roots levels and especially on the incredible dirt tracks where FASTRAK and ULTIMATE races take place,” Packman said. “I am very much looking forward to learning all I can from Stan, DJ and the Regional Directors in how to make the series even stronger. They have an excellent base of partners, drivers and fans already in place I’ll be able to work with in this role.
“Having grown up in racing, working at both dirt and asphalt tracks and running one will be helpful when working with our base of track operators. This is a great opportunity to put all my past experiences to use and to help make FASTRAK and their companies even stronger than they are already.
“I appreciate Stan for giving me this opportunity and look forward to meeting everyone involved. This season has started out difficult for everyone in this business, my goal is to have it end on a great note for our tracks, partners and teams.”
Lester created FASTRAK in 2004 and the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series in 2009. Irvine will remain in his current role and now be able to devote more time to the Social Media, Communications and other services provided to tracks.
“This is just one more step to ensure the future of FASTRAK, ULTIMATE and our different regions,” Lester said. “Tim brings a lot of experience and insights we can use to keep growing in the right directions. We talked to a lot of people interested in the General Manager position and DJ and I feel good about our decision.
“We have great marketing partners who have supported us for years. We want to make sure all of them, and the new ones coming on board, know our racing business is going to remain strong.”
