In 2019, FASTRAK started its Future Stars Tour, giving young, up-and-coming racers a platform to develop skills in a Dirt Late Model at some of the same tracks the FASTRAK Racing Series visits annually.

The series’ will honor its inaugural title winner during the FASTRAK Night of Champions January 25.  Trae Kirk of Monroe, Georgia earned the series title after winning the tour’s inaugural race at Toccoa Speedway (GA) in June at the age of 13.

The honor is a memorable one for the now 14-year-old driver, coming in his rookie season driving a full-bodied Dirt Late Model.

“It’s definitely exciting to know I was the first FASTRAK Future Stars Champion, especially since it was my first season running a Late Model,” Kirk told Speed51.

Along with his FASTRAK Future Stars win, Kirk made several trips to victory lane throughout the 2019 season.

“I won my first race at Blue Ridge [Motorsports Park, GA] at the end of April.  I won the Buck Simmons Memorial race at Lavonia Speedway (GA) and the Georgia State Championship for 602 Chargers at Lavonia.”

Between the FASTRAK Future Stars Tour and those other events, the season provided quite the learning experience for the Georgia native.

“I learned a lot.  Starting out in the car helped me understand how those Limiteds, Supers and 604s will drive.  Hopefully it will help me move up the ladder to bigger and better cars.”

Kirk plans to continue climbing the racing ladder in 2020, facing some stiffer competition in the Dirt Late Model world this year.

“I think we’re going to move up and run 602 crates with some bigger guys.  We’ll run points at Lavonia Speedway and the 602 Thunder Series.”

The FASTRAK Night of Champions banquet will be held at the Hilton in Greenville, South Carolina on Saturday, January 25.  Speed51 will be in attendance and providing coverage as the Official Video Home of the FASTRAK Racing Series and the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series.
