FASTRAK AND GM / CHEVROLET PERFORMANCE PARTS PARTNER FOR THE EIGHTEENTH YEAR OF CRATE RACING
Carnesville, Georgia - Eighteen years ago, Stan Lester, founder and owner of FASTRAK Racing, had a crazy idea to start a crate engine late model series. That idea received much attention from the dirt racing world, most of the attention wondering if Lester had gone crazy. But, then, one of the industry phone calls came from Bill Martens, then Associate Marketing Manager for Chevrolet Performance. After that phone call, a partnership was born.
"I so clearly remember the first days and when Bill (Martens) called me, and the first words out of his mouth were Stan Lester, what are you doing?" commented Stan Lester, owner, and founder of FASTRAK Racing.
Heading into 2023, GM / Chevrolet Performance will again partner with FASTRAK Racing for the eighteenth consecutive year. This partnership has affected the entire crate racing community, throughout the nation, in a positive way.
"I look forward to our continued long-term relationship with GM / Chevrolet Performance Parts. Eighteen years is a long time for anyone to stick together in this business, but we have, and it worked well for both of us," commented Lester.
With Bill Martens retiring in April, the program is now in the hands of Todd Galant. Galant has already made changes that will help everyone in crate engine racing.
Lester added, "With Bill retiring, Todd has some big shoes to fill. Communication is the key in any relationship, and anything you can do to improve that can only empower the "team" concept. I appreciate Todd including me in that role. I genuinely believe that working together with GM / Chevrolet Performance Parts has positively affected motorsports."
For any track owner wanting to host a FASTRAK Touring Series event, please contact FASTRAK VP Bill Lupinos to schedule one of the new $5000 to-win and $400 to-start races. In addition, the first ten tracks to book one of these shows will receive a $5000 sponsorship towards that race. Dates for the 2023 tour will be released soon.
