<p><em>Hanover, West Virginia</em> – On Saturday, The FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division traveled southwest from Beckley Motorsports Park for the second leg of the $20,000 West Virginia Double Header Weekend to Thunder Mountain Speedway.  The event marked the 3rd appearance of the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Series at the Hanover, West Virginia 4/10ths of a mile oval. The last time the FASTRAK travelers were at Thunder Mountain young Jordan Dill slipped past Lee Cooper and Chris Meadows to take the checkers first.</p>
<p>On Saturday they were 3 of the principles who had a shot at the win, all scoring starting positions within the top 6. But in VP Race Fuels Race for the Pole Qualifying it was Umberger who once again asserted his prowess at the Heath Ellis promoted facility. Umberger laid down a lap of 18.572 seconds which just edged local favorite Clark Perry by only 6 one-thousandths of a second. Trent Ivey, Jordan Dill and Chris Meadows completed the top 5 qualifiers. Qualifying set only the front row with the remainder of the field headed to a b-main.</p>
<p>On the start of the feature, Umberger once again jumped into the lead. Lee Cooper, Dill and Perry locked horns vying for the 2nd spot. Meadows followed the 3 contenders for the runner-up spot looking for an opportunity to get into the fray. On lap 6 he did just that sweeping by Dill to take 2nd. Meadows then set after Umberger, who had opened up a substantial lead. Slowly but surely Meadows was reeling Umberger in. Meadows had his cause helped when the yellow appeared, bunching the field just before the halfway point of the 40-lapper.</p>
<p>When the green flag waved Meadows went to work immediately, diving low beneath Umberger into turn one. Over the next 5 laps Umberger and Meadows raced wheel-to-wheel with neither able to gain a clear advantage. Finally Meadows cleared Umberger exiting turn 4 on lap 23. Yet another yellow flag slowed the field when Heath Ellis and Shane Greco got together on the front straightaway. Umberger found himself challenged for 2nd on the restart. Cooper stuck his nose alongside off of turn 2 and the two drag-raced into turn 3 and 4 side-by-side. The pair of FASTRAK regulars repeated the scenario on the next lap with Cooper finally covering the spot.</p>
<p>Umberger was not done by any means however. He stalked Cooper back down and used the inside line to pull even with the 57 machine.  Umberger regained the 2nd position off of turn 4 and then set his sights on Meadows.  But Meadows would not be denied as he flashed by the line to take the $2000 victory. Umberger settled for 2nd with Cooper coming home 3rd. “That was really a fun race. I appreciate Brandon racing me clean like that. We sure needed this win and I am happy to finally get this first FASTRAK win. We have been so close a couple of times. I feel like this place really owed us one. We were leading here last year and had some electrical issues that eventually cost us the lead and the race. So this one feels good.” Meadows said after the race.</p>

<p><strong><em>Prosperity, West Virginia – </em></strong>The FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division made its first foray of the young season to Wild and Wonderful West Virginia for a pair of $2000 to win events on Friday and Saturday. The FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division has also enjoyed great parity thus far boasting 5 winners in the last 5 events dating back to the 2 final 2011 Grand Nationals events. Heading in to the weekend, David Smith of Inman, South Carolina sat atop the series standings with five drivers all within no more than 18 points of his lead.</p>
<p>Friday night marked the first time in history that the FASTRAK Racing Series had ever visited the 3/8&#8242;s of a mile Beckley Motorsports Park  in Prosperity, West Virginia.</p>
<p>Brandon Umberger asserted himself early on as the man everyone would have to beat when he picked up the VP Race Fuels Race for the Pole Award with his overall fast time of 17.353 seconds topping the field. Umberger was followed in time trials by former FASTRAK Southeast / Mid-East champion David Smith, FASTRAK Rookie contender Trent Ivey, 3-time FASTRAK champion Lee Cooper and local favorite Mike Faykus.</p>
<p>On the initial start Umberger grabbed a hole-shot to take the lead but Smith got crossed up in turn 4 and collected several cars, including Ivey who was forced to retire. The second start had very similar results as Umberger sailed to a lead. Smith gave chase as Cooper and Faykus battled for the 3rd position. The event was plagued by several early caution flags with the most serious eliminating Aaron Barley, Tate Hughes, Nathan Harrison and Jeff Lilly. But out front it was all Umberger as Smith was never able to mount a serious challenge. Smith held on for second while Faykus, Cooper and Eddie Hambrick rounded out the top five finishers.</p>
<p>“We had just a great race car tonight. We have raced over here at Beckley quite a bit over the years and we have always been pretty successful. My car-owner / crew chief Jason Short and all the people that work on this car deserve all the credit for how well it runs. I am just the lucky guy that gets to drive it. They work on it all week and get it ready to go. I appreciate all of their hard work and I am glad that we could give them another win tonight. Thanks to Beckley for giving us a good smooth track to race on and thanks to FASTRAK for putting on the show.” Umberger said in FASTRAK’s VP Race Fuels / Hoosier Tires Victory Lane.</p>

<p><strong><em>Carnesville, Georgia</em></strong> &#8211; The FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division Teams and Drivers are making their final preparations as they swing back into action this weekend with a pair of $2000 to win events at two of West Virginia&#8217;s most exciting venues. David Smith of Inman, South Carolina currently leads the City Chevrolet Touring Division Point Standings by just 2 points over Chris Ferguson and a mere 5 markers ahead of 3rd place Brian Connor. While Ferguson isn’t expected to be competing this weekend, Martinez, Georgia’s Connor is. Connor finished strong in 2011 picking up a Night 3 win in the FASTRAK Grand Nationals and a runner-up finish on Night 2. Connor has found consistency right out of the gate in 2012 and should be a strong contender for the City Chevrolet Touring Championship.</p>
<p>Also firmly entrenched in the chase are another pair of previous FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division Champions in reigning champion Brandon Umberger of Rural Retreat, Virginia and 3-time Champion Lee Cooper of Woodruff, South Carolina. Umberger and Cooper are 4th and 5th, respectively, in the point standings and both will be looking to move up the ladder this weekend. Umberger picked up a win at Thunder Mountain last year and has also had some success at Beckley in the past. Cooper also had a pair of strong runs at Thunder Mountain in 2011.</p>
<p>Jordan Dill will be headed in to the weekend with something to prove. Dill, the 2011 FASTRAK National Rookie of the Year, took the checkered flag first at an event at Thunder Mountain only to lose the victory on a technicality in post-race inspection. “Jordan made one of the most incredible moves I have ever seen in all of my years around racing. He threaded the needle around the outside of Lee Cooper and Chris Meadows who were in a dogfight for the lead themselves. He then showed great poise in holding off a great racer in Dan Angeliccio. The post-race thing was tough. Everybody there knew that didn’t win the race for Jordan but rules are rules and we have to enforce them to the letter. So I look for him to be hungry and looking to redeem himself.” said Stan Lester Founder and CEO of FASTRAK.</p>
<p>This Friday night, May 11 Beckley Motor Speedway in Prosperity, West Virginia hosts the FASTRAK Pro Late Models for the first time ever for a $2000 to win / 40-lap event which will also feature NASCAR and SPEED TV driver/personality Kenny Wallace racing an Open Wheel Modified against the always-tough Beckley OWM regulars. Beckley will also host an autograph session scheduled for 4:30 PM during which drivers including Wallace will be present for. And last but not least Beckley will also have a HUGE post-race fireworks show.</p>
<p>On Saturday night, May 12 Thunder Mountain Speedway in Hanover, West Virginia will play host to the weekend finale which features another $2000 to win / 40-lap event for the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division. The last visit to Thunder Mountain was one of the most exciting races in FASTRAK history and fans and racers expect nothing less this weekend. Thunder Mountain Speedway will also host an autograph session at a time TBA at the event.</p>

<p><strong><em>Carnesville, Georgia</em></strong> &#8211; The FASTRAK Racing Series has slated and<br />
is set to host an “engine summit” for all FASTRAK-authorized builders and<br />
technical directors from the FASTRAK weekly-sanctioned tracks on May 4th-5th.<br />
Authorized engine builders need to be there for both days while the track<br />
technical directors are Saturday only. “We’ve done this before and it’s time we<br />
did it again” stated FASTRAK Series Founder Stan Lester. “There are some issues<br />
that we need to address and our philosophy of doing it with everyone involved<br />
makes our company stronger and provides us with more of a solid foundation. No<br />
question that this kind of communication is the key to our continued success.<br />
FASTRAK has grown to be the largest race sanctioning body in dirt racing<br />
utilizing the GM Crate Engines and this is the only way we can continue that<br />
growth trend. I know that our engine builders will enjoy this opportunity to<br />
get to know and share experiences with other builders across the country. It is<br />
an excellent chance to learn some new things and maybe even teach everyone else<br />
something. There is nothing like putting a face with a name”.</p>
<p>“I really applaud what I have seen with the FASTRAK system.<br />
The real key to it all is everyone working together rather than against each<br />
other. The engine builders and tech folks are working hard to be on the same<br />
page and ensure that things are being done the same in Shawano, Wisconsin as<br />
they are in Toccoa, Georgia and Strongstown, Pennsylvania. It really is a team<br />
effort. And the FASTRAK Corporate Office is excited to be hosting this event.”<br />
said FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division Director Kelley Carlton. “I am<br />
beginning to see what has made FASTRAK such a great success. I don’t remember<br />
seeing anything like this being done in other series’ that I am familiar with.<br />
Getting these engine builders and technical people from across the country<br />
together can only make FASTRAK better as a series and the tracks that are<br />
involved better. It also shows our race teams that FASTRAK is doing its part to<br />
keep things on an equal playing field.” Carlton concluded.</p>
<p>The FASTRAK Engine Summit will be held at the Wytheville Meeting<br />
Center located at 333 Community Boulevard in Wytheville Virginia. “Wytheville<br />
is the central location between the FASTRAK Corporate Offices and the FASTRAK Northeast<br />
Offices. That gives everyone the chance to attend with minimal travel. So we<br />

With that high of a percentage we waited as long as we could to make a decision but the forecast is just not improving. Nobody wants to get these races in any more than we do but with diesel fuel well over $4.00 a gallon in most areas it is just imperative to our teams and fans that we try to be good stewards of their entertainment dollars. And today the right decision is to reschedule to another date before everyone starts heading that way.&#8221; said FASTRAK Founder and CEO Stan Lester.</p>
<p>Discussions are continuing between series and track officials on a make-up date for the event. The date will be announced as soon as possible and should be no later than the afternoon of this Monday, April 23rd. <div>Pinehall, North Carolina – After a disappointing tangle with a lap car cost a chance to win at Cleveland County Speedway on Friday night, Chris Ferguson rebounded in fine fashion on Saturday night at the back-end of the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division double-header weekend. Ferguson bypassed 2012 FASTRAK Southeast / Mid-East Region Champion&#8230; Brandon Umberger for the lead on lap 22 and then turned away a hard charging David Smith to pick up a $2000 payday.</div>
<div>“Man our car was just awesome. I tried to take care of the tires and pick the time to make a run and fortunately it fell our way. We tried to run everybody clean and get up through there. I had a run on the 54 car (Umberger) off of 4 a few laps before we got by him but we touched a little and I checked up to stay off of him. I got into him a little last night and I didn’t want to do that again. This was a great race and it was a lot of fun.” Ferguson said in victory lane.</div>
<div>31 one FASTRAK City Chevrolet Pro Late Models signed in for VP Race Fuels Race for the Pole Qualifying. After all 31 cars had completed their 2 timed laps it was David Smith picking up his 2nd consecutive pole award in as many nights. Umberger’s 17.844-second mark fell just shy of Smith’s lap of 17.822 seconds around the ½ mile high-banks of 311 Speedway. Local hotshoe Chase McCormick of Dobson, North Carolina was third quick followed by Brian Connor, Ferguson, Barry Arnold, Dale Timms and Mitchell Coble.</div>
<div>A huge crash on the initial start attempt for the 40-lap feature claimed Rob Farve and Noel Tucker. Also caught up the mêlée were Ron Parker, Lee Cooper and Richard Clew. Cooper continued however Parker and Clew both lost laps in the pit area completing repairs. With the field reset for another attempt, Umberger was able to grab the advantage headed into turn 1. Smith followed closely and nosed to the inside of the 54B machine over the first several laps. After another yellow flag and restart Brian Connor emerged to challenge Umberger. Connor pulled alongside Umberger lap after lap but could not cover the spot.</div>
<div>After yet another yellow slowed the field at the halfway point, Ferguson asserted his power on the restart. Ferguson quickly disposed of Connor taking Smith with him. Ferguson immediately challenged Umberger to the inside of turn 3. Pulling alongside Ferguson and Umberger made slight contact causing Ferguson to check-up and allow Umberger to pull away. But Ferguson was not done yet. One lap later he was on right back on the rear of Umberger and took the lead off of turn 4 to complete lap 22 and take the lead. Umberger tried to fight back but was immediately forced to deal with Smith.</div>
<div>Smith bypassed Umberger and set after Ferguson as the laps waned. Ferguson opened up a healthy margin on Smith but as he reached lap traffic Smith began to reel the leader in. However by the time Smith had Ferguson within his vision he had run out of laps. Ferguson picked up the $2000 win and Smith finished 2nd. Smith also retained the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division point lead he established with his Friday night win at Cleveland County.</div>
<div>Ferguson was jubilant in the FASTRAK VP Race Fuels Victory Lane. Ferguson climbed from his Mike Mercer owned Barry Wright Race Car and stood atop the roof pumping his fists in excitement. “We really want to thank Mike Mercer and his family for allowing me to drive this car. Mike has an awesome piece and it was just so good tonight. We have been fast everywhere that we have raced it but we have just been having bad luck. But Mike understands that and has allowed us to keep driving the car. I want to thank all of the sponsors on this car and all of the sponsors on our Super Late Model car too. They all help out and we couldn’t do any of this without them.” Ferguson said.</div>

<div id="id_4f8cb6fe846563b37818701">Lawndale, North Carolina – Friday night’s FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division event marked the Georgia-based series 9th season opener and at the end of the night, one of the series long-time supporters drove his machine into VP Race Fuels Victory Lane. 2010 FASTRAK Southeast Touring Champion David S&#8230;mith overtook Chris Ferguson and drove away from the field to pick up a convincing victory. “What a great race car. It felt good to be able to come out here and have such a good car and get our season started off on the right foot. I am sure glad that my car owner Stanley McCarter could be here after a week in the hospital. Hopefully this win will make him feel a little better.” Smith said.</div>
<div>Smith established himself as the man to beat when he opened up the night by setting quick time during VP Race Fuels Race for the Pole Qualifying. Smith’s quick lap bested the other 23 drivers signed in for the event and handed him a nice $250 Fast Time Bonus from FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division sponsor Velocita USA.</div>
<div>When the green flag waved over the field the battle for the lead was on immediately. Ferguson nosed ahead through turn 2 but Smith rallied to his inside and pulled even. The two Carolinians repeated the same scenario lap after lap and corner after corner over the first 9 circuits until Ferguson was able to slip by Smith exiting turn 4. Smith stayed glued to Ferguson’s rear deck until the 2 leaders reached backmarker traffic. Ferguson made quick work of the first lapper he approached putting the one car buffer between Smith and himself. However when Ferguson reached the machine of Heath Ellis he couldn’t find a way around. Ellis was running the very line Ferguson needed.</div>
<div>With Ferguson looking for a way around Ellis, Smith moved back in ready to pounce. Ferguson finally made the move by Ellis after some heavy racing contact between the two. Smith was then faced with the challenge of moving by Ellis. Smith was able to dispose of the lapped machine and again set after Ferguson down the back straightaway. When the leaders exited turn 4 Ferguson’s #22 dramatically slowed and Smith rolled by to take the lead. Ferguson slowed to a stop just past the flagstand after suffering a flat right rear tire on his mount.</div>
<div>With Ferguson on the tail for the restart, Smith now had to fend off the very fast Furman Parton. Parton took over the second position after the yellow flag and aligned to Smith’s outside for the lap 13 double-file restart. Smith’s #11 TNT Race Car scampered away handily with the drop of the green flag. Smith went on to avert all incidents and turn back all challengers to take the $2000 victory and secure the championship points lead. “I can’t say enough about how hard Carburetor Bob and Troy who has come on to help us here. I want to say thank you to Stanley McCarter because without him none of this would be possible. We are having fun and running well and that’s what it’s all about. It’s always good to come out of the gate with a win.” Smith added.</div>

Teams from all over the region and several states are expected to make the trip to the Tarheel State looking to get in a pair of FASTRAK points events which they can count towards their needed 12 events to qualify for the nationally televised FASTRAK World Championship set for October. “We just need Mother Nature to give us a break this weekend for our FASTRAK events like she did for our ULTIMATE race this past weekend. I know we need that rain, but we don’t need it on race day. We are excited about getting started on the ‘Road to the World Championships Tour’ for the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division. This is going to be a really big year for us and for our teams and it will all culminate with the televised FASTRAK World Championships in October. I am excited.” Said FASTRAK’s Stan Lester.</p>
<p>On Friday night, April 13th the touring FASTRAK Pro Late Model touring teams will invade the 4/10ths of a mile Cleveland County Speedway in Lawndale, North Carolina for the Preston Humphries Memorial. All divisions including Limited Sportsman, Renegade, Super Stock 4, Pure Stock V8 and Young Guns will be racing for added purse. For information on the Cleveland County Speedway visit <a href="http://www.clevelandcountyspeedway.com/">www.clevelandcountyspeedway.com</a> or call Tami at (704) 538-7070. <p>On Saturday night, April 14th the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division teams will move northward to the ½ mile 311 Speedway located just outside of Madison, North Carolina for another $2000 to win event. 311 also hosts some of the most competitive weekly racers in the country and the traveling drivers will certainly have their work cut out for them if they want to visit victory lane at 311. Also on the card at 311 will be the Limited Sportsman, Stock 4s, U-Cars and Good Ol’ Boys. <p><strong style="text-align: center;"><em>Toccoa, Georgia</em></strong><span style="text-align: center;"> – Officials of the FASTRAK Racing Series and the Toccoa Speedway announced recently that the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division season opener that was scheduled for Saturday, April 7</span>th<span style="text-align: center;"> has been postponed and will be rescheduled to a later date. The decision was based due in part to the date conflicting with the running of the Junk Monkey Crate Nationals at Green Valley Speedway in Gadsden, Alabama. “We have a lot of race teams in our area that planned to attend the Crate Nationals at Green Valley. In fact one of our area car owners company is the title sponsor of the event. We know that in this economy we all need to try and work together and try to schedule smartly to benefit everybody. Andy (Hyde, Toccoa Speedway promoter) and I think this decision lends itself to that goal.” said Toccoa Speedway Director Brad York.</span></p>
<p>“When Brad and I talked about this we both decided that day this was the right thing to do. That is an awful lot of money up for grabs down there at Green Valley and we want all of race teams to have an opportunity to go down and represent FASTRAK and Toccoa Speedway well and bring back some that money with them. We can certainly reschedule the Toccoa date to one that is better suited for all of our race teams and fans. We just want to wish all of our teams that decided to travel down to Alabama much luck and safety along the way.” said FASTRAK Founder and CEO Stan Lester.</p>
<p>The reschedule date for the Toccoa Speedway event will be announced at a later date. The FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division opener will now be pushed to the Cleveland County Speedway in Lawndale, North Carolina on Friday night, April 13th for a $2000 to win show which will be the first event of a doubleheader weekend for the City Chevrolet Touring Division. On Saturday the FASTRAK Teams will move north to the 311 Speedway in Madison, North Carolina for another $2000 to win affair. For information on the Cleveland County Speedway visit <a href="http://www.clevelandcountyspeedway.com/">www.clevelandcountyspeedway.com</a> or call (704) 538-7070.
