(Prosperity, West Virginia) – The 1st leg of the 8th Annual 2013 $30,000 FASTRAK Triple Crown was a race that people will be talking about for a while. What a race and what a finish. 26 FASTRAK Racing Series Pro Late Models answered the call at Beckley Motorsports Park to take on the 3/8th mile dirt facility nestled a short drive off I-77. The race was a special event not only kicking off the 2013 Triple Crown but also to remember “BIG” Mike Faykus Sr. as this night was a Memorial race to his honor. The last time the FASTRAK Racing Series competed was on a cold October night in the $250K FASTRAK World Championship weekend. The race was a dominant success with 186 Entries in 2 days of racing. The weather was cold for a May with a Full Moon hovering also above the “dust cloud” from “The Fastest 3/8th mile Dirt Track in the South” making everyone wonder if it was October again. One thing is for certain the racing certainly matched last year.

In VP Race Fuels for the Pole Qualifying #8 Rocket from Bellwood, North Carolina Ron “The Bull” Parker set the overall quick time with a 14.418 second lap around the “speed bowl”. Having lane choice he chose to take the high side for the green flag start. The top 4 fastest cars from the 2 groups in qualifying we’re locked in putting 8 in the 40 lap A-Main Feature. The 2 Consi races we’re also exciting with the Top 8 going into the show everyone raced hard to get better advancements to the show but didn’t risk messing up a lot of equipment. #12 Rocket of Beckley, West Virginia’s Rick Williams locked in RockAuto.com B-Main 1 and #24 TNT chassis from Jonesboro, Tennessee Tim Byrd locked in Chevy Performance B-Main #2.

After the special “Meet and Greet” concluded and the command to fire the motors we’re conducted by the driver of the #6 Rocket from Prosperity, West Virginia Mike Faykus Jr. The race event that was in his Father Mike Faykus Sr.’s memory along with the 4-wide salute missing man formation with #6 Faykus out in front with “God Bless America” playing to pay tribute to our troops this Memorial day weekend . It was time for Race #1 in the 2013 FASTRAK Triple Crown.

No laps complete and BIG trouble ensued off turn 2 with the pack as the front row made contact. #24f Jensen Ford in his TNT chassis got cocked sideways and then forced the field to check up. From there on it piled them in collecting a half dozen cars. Due to no laps being complete, drivers we’re able to have sheet metal pulled to prevent tire rub and make fixes to cars. Drivers involved included #45 Eddie Hambrick, #24F Jensen Ford, #28 Aaron Barley, #33 Shane Greco, #12 Rick Williams. #A-1 Tim Dohm was the only car to pit for repairs giving up his 7th starting spot sending him to the rear for the start. On the Green flag it was #24f Jensen Ford in the TNT house car leading the first few circuits with furious 3-4 wide racing. Lap #3 Ron Parker prepared to take Beckley by the horns as “The Bull” took position one and then preceded to pull away from the field. Lap #14 caution 2 would fall when #A-1 Tim Dohm from Cross Lanes, West Virginia gets up in the fence off turn 3. Dohm was victim of breaking a tie rod and messing up the suspension on his Rocket chassis ending his night.

Caution flag would fall again on Lap #21 just after halfway as still Ron Parker was still setting a blistering pace with all comers rallying to catch him. #33 Midway, West Virginia native “The Gecko” Shane Greco got up in the “tater patch” off turn 4 stalling causing yellow. Then on the restart #95 Nathan Harrision’s Rocket hit the “loud pedal” a little to quick and came down on the #44w Brandon Umberger sending him spinning down to the infield on the front straightaway. The racing would continue with #8 Rocket Ron Parker still leading the way but slowly but surely as the race was coming to an end #24f Jensen Ford, #33 Chris Meadows, #6 Mike Faykus Jr. and #68 Tyler Cox we’re making a late rally to reel him in and spoil Parker’s chance to get victory at Beckley. The final time the yellow lights would aluminate was on Lap 30 when #99 Teddy Tate cut down a tire stalling in turn 4.

The final 10 laps was no lie intense. Not one single fan was not sitting down as the “Rocket vs. Rocket Show” got underway between #8 Ron Parker and #33 Chris Meadows. While those two drivers contended for the first two spots. #24f Jensen Ford and #6 Mike Faykus Jr. we’re having a “door to door” battle for 3rd and 4th spot. The final five laps had the top 4 cars battling side by side with no one giving an inch. At the white flag Parker was able to jump out on the top shelf with a 2 car length lead. However exiting off turn 3 #33 Chris Meadows was able to get a run on the machine of Ron Parker making a “PHOTO-FINISH” at the stripe with the #33 Chris Meadows powering by a margin of victory by just 0.018 seconds. What an event to close also for the #6 Mike Faykus Jr. he was able to put the RPMX Motorsports entry to a 3rd place finish in his Father’s memory to end Night #1 of the FASTRAK Triple Crown – “BIG” Mike Faykus Sr. Memorial Race to close out a wild finish on a “Full Moon” Friday night.

THE NUMBER OF EVENTS TO QUALIFY FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 15!! REPEATING 15 RACES EITHER FASTRAK WEEKLY AND/OR TOURING EVENTS

2013 FASTRAK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP AND WORLD CHALLENGE: Events to qualify (15 Races). FASTRAK however reserves the right to “adjust” number of races based on inclement weather etc. The Championships will be held in one weekend. 2012 was a very successful event with 186 ENTRIES in 2 days of racing and the format will be the same with small changes to give you more time. Point awards will be given out at the FASTRAK “Night of Champions” National Banquet. No trophies will be awarded to drivers not “at the banquet”. Point checks will be mailed afterwards. Verify information checks are too made to no later than December 1st.

The World of Outlaws Late Models Series, Renegades of Dirt Modified Series and the Mod Lite All Stars Series are also on the attraction. We’re very excited to announce that for the first time ever the FASTRAK Sweeney Cars Northeast Touring Division will be a part of this racing spectacle May 23rd-26th, 2013 on Memorial Day weekend with the $2,000 to win “VIVA-LA 30”.

The event will kick off on Thursday night May 23rd with Open Practice for all divisions. Friday night May 24th will be a Special concert at the Tyler County Fairgrounds adjacent to the Speedway featuring Country Music Talent: “Country Superstar Band” Colt Ford, “American Country Association’s Rising Country Star nominee – Justin Moore and Zach Paxson presented by the Hometown Racing Association.

It’s the weekend when the “Premier Pro Late Model Series in the Country” – FASTRAK Racing Series will embark on the 8th edition of the 2013 FASTRAK Triple Crown, our Memorial Day weekend extravaganza with more than $30,000 dollars purse in three days up for grabs.

The 2013 FASTRAK Triple Crown will kick off on May 24th and conclude on May 26th. Its 3 action packed nights of racing that fans have grown to love year after year that FASTRAK provides. Each event pays $2,000 To Win/$250 To Start the race. Teams are reminded that each of these events will be point races for the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division. In addition, as customary, a special award is created for the driver with the highest point total over the course of all three events which make up the FASTRAK Triple Crown.

The quest for that massive 60 pound King’s Crown trophy is always what they’re going after for three grueling days of searching for that elusive checkered flag with the $30,000 dollars purse on the line also. At the end of Sunday evening the driver having the most points in this “mini” race series will be the victor. The ceremony is always special for the Triple Crown Champion with the crown, cape and scepter presentation to our fans of the “FASTRAK Universe” to witness.

It starts officially on Friday night May 24th at Beckley Motorsports Park in Prosperity, West Virginia. The 3/8th mile racing facility deemed “The Fastest Dirt Track in the South” They are very excited to be “kicking-off” the 2013 FASTRAK Triple Crown paying $2,000 to win. This race will also not only be Round #1 of the FASTRAK Triple Crown, but it will also be the “BIG” Mike Faykus Sr. Memorial Race.

On Saturday night May 25th we return to the ½ mile Wythe Raceway nestled off I-81 in the beautiful Allegheny Mountains of “The Commonwealth State” in Rural Retreat, Virginia. This “super-fast” ½ mile dirt facility is hosting Round #2. This race will pay again $2,000 to the winner. This will be the only stop at Wythe Raceway until Labor Day weekend’s “10th Annual Pro Late Model Nationals” which is always a HUGE!!

Sunday night May 26th 2013 FASTRAK Triple Crown will conclude at the 4/10th mile Princeton Speedway located in Princeton, West Virginia. The finale will pay $2,000 to the winner. It will also be the final night to rack up the points to decide who going to be the 2013 FASTRAK Triple Crown Champion. Freddy Mooney has done an extraordinary job getting the facility back up and running again. The Princeton Speedway is located right off I-77 a few miles into West Virginia north of leaving Virginia and is in a great location.

Historically, the annual FASTRAK Triple Crown has routinely seen an exceptional brand of close and intense racing in all 3 events whereby, race fans are the winners. Pro Late Model teams throughout the Southeast/Mideast are preparing for the Memorial Day Weekend extravaganza. The Triple Crown is a staple on the FASTRAK/City Chevrolet Touring Division schedule where numerous teams have competed in the annual Memorial Day Weekend event since its inception.

(Four Oaks, North Carolina) – FASTRAK Companies International announced during the winter about the new alliance with John Watson and staff at the Tyler County Speedway sanctioning their “crates” late model program for 2013. The momentum continues to build even more at the 3/8th mile track nicknamed “The Bullring” in Middlebourne, West Virginia. Tyler County Speedway is now preparing for the always exciting – “JACKPOT 100 Weekend” presented by NAPA Auto Parts. It features the World of Outlaws Late Models Series, Renegades of Dirt Modified Series and the Mod Lite All Stars Series. We’re very excited to announce that for the first time ever the FASTRAK Sweeney Cars Northeast Touring Division will be a part of this racing spectacle May 23rd-26th, 2013 on Memorial Day weekend with the $2,000 to win “VIVA-LA 30”.

The $12,000+ purse is going to be bringing in the top driver’s from all over the Northeast/Mid-Ohio Valley to take on “The Bullring”. “We’re very excited to be a part of the “JACKPOT 100 Weekend” presented by NAPA Auto Parts with the WoOLMS and the other great programs on tap for that weekend. The event will kick off on Thursday night May 23rd with Open Practice for all divisions.

Friday night May 24th will be a Special concert at the Tyler County Fairgrounds adjacent to the Speedway. It will be featuring Country Music Talent including: “Country Superstar Band” Colt Ford, “American Country Association’s Rising Country Star nominee – Justin Moore and Zach Paxson presented by the Hometown Racing Association.

Saturday May 25th it’s Hot Laps, VP Race for the Pole Qualifying and Heat Races for the “VIVA-LA 30” FASTRAK Sweeney Cars Northeast Touring Division. Along with a Full Show by the World of Outlaws Late Models Series plus the Renegades of Dirt Modified and Mod-Lite All Stars Series with Qualifying and Heat Races.

Sunday May 26th its RACE DAY with the B-main (Last Chance races) and the $12,000 purse on the line for the FASTRAK Sweeney Cars Northeast Touring Division paying $2,000 to the winner in the “VIVA-LA 30”. The World of Outlaws Late Models Series Feature will be paying $15,000 to win and the Mains for the Renegades of Dirt Modified Series and Mod-Lite All Stars Series.

In addition to the FASTRAK Sweeney Cars Northeast Touring Division being a part of the “2013 JACKPOT 100 Weekend” presented by NAPA Auto Parts. (Four Oaks, North Carolina) – Due to the Projected Forecast of 80% chance of precipitation for this Saturday in Hanover, West Virginia. FASTRAK Companies International and Thunder Mountain Speedway have reached a mutual agreement to POSTPONE the Saturday May 18th “Battle of the North-South 50” $5,000 to win event. A new date has already been set in place which will be now rescheduled to June 1st.

“With an almost $20,000 dollars Purse on the line and the weather projections not looking good it was just in the best interest of everyone to POSTPONE this event for another day – June 1st.” stated Brian Haynes – FASTRAK Director of Operations. The race with the FASTRAK Racing Series is a FASTRAK National Event. Meaning it’s going to be drawing drivers and teams from all the regions of FASTRAK. Paying also $5,000 to win, it’s the biggest racing spectacle to ever hit Hanover, West Virginia’s 4/10th mile newly high-banked track nestled in “coal-mine” country.

Everybody is certainly “hyped and excited” to see this racing event take place as the FASTRAK Racing Series always puts on an awesome performance. The FASTRAK events are always a well officiated and professional show. With the weather that affected West Virginia tracks and much of the Southeast United States last weekend. We all took a gamble playing against the weather. We just do not want to take that chance for this weekend’s big race event at Thunder Mountain Speedway. Plus the weather looks to be a lot worse than last weekend’s forecast for Saturday.

It will still have a $20,000+ purse up for grabs and payout $5,000 to the winner of the “Battle of the North-South 50”. The race event will still be a FASTRAK National event, the only thing that changes is the race date. We are really absolutely looking forward to putting on the biggest racing event thus far ever at “Where the Mountain Roars” – Thunder Mountain Speedway but we’ll just have to wait a few more weeks before it comes to fruition.
