Jim Housworth Picks up Back-to-Back FASTRAK Crate 1 Sportsman Modified Championships
New Egypt, New Jersey – Jim Housworth of Riegelsville, Pennsylvania has captured his second consecutive Crate 1 Sportsman Modified Championship at the New Egypt Speedway. Housworth utilized a sealed FASTRAK GM Performance 602 Crate Engine to power his Troyer chassied machine to 2 wins, 10 top 5s and 15 top 10s in the 17 races he entered at 3 different tracks. “We had a great year. We’ve actually had 2 great years. I’ve been racing the Crate1 Sportsman Modified for 2 years now and we have won the New Egypt Championship in each of those 2 seasons. We have 4 career feature event wins in the Crate 1 Sportsman Modified.” Housworth exclaimed.
Housworth also raced his machine at Five Mile Point Speedway in New York and Penn Can Raceway in Pennsylvania. Before switching over to the Crate 1 Sportsman Modifieds Housworth began racing in 2003 at Borger’s Speedway in the Slingshot by Tobias Division. Housworth also spent time at the wheel of a 270 cc Micro Sprint Car, an INEX Legend Car and a Stage-One Modified. Housworth currently owns 6 track or series championships, along with 34 feature event wins at 9 different racetracks.
