Carnesville, Georgia – FASTRAK Teams spoke and Series Founder and CEO Stan Lester listened. “We asked our teams what we could do to make our year end event more appealing to them. Almost every one of them said we should get rid of the regional night one and just create one big event for all the money. So in response to that we have come up with this new format that we feel will make for something very exciting and interesting for the fans while cutting down on travel and expenses for our teams.” Lester said.

FASTRAK also announced that they will rename their season ender to more accurately reflect the competition level that participates. “I truly believe that we have the best drivers in the world. They have demonstrated that time after time. When these guys who normally run Super Late Models come to one of our events they know that they will have beat some real talent if they expect to run well. So we decided that we will now call the year end event the FASTRAK World Championship. It just suits our teams better because they are the best in the world.” Lester added.

In 2012 teams will still be required to participate in a minimum of 12 events in order to be eligible for invitation to the World Championship. The World Championship will consist of a two-day event. On day one teams will draw to determine qualifying order and in which feature they will race in on day 1. All the teams will be split into 2 separate events on day one that will consist of qualifying, heats, consolation races and a feature event. Both features will carry a complete purse. On day 2 the top 15 drivers in each of the previous day’s features will then qualify, heat race, consolation race and feature on day 2 to determine the World Champion.

“It’s basically winner-take-all for the World Championship title. There will be no need for a points system. All the teams have earned their chance to be there. And all of them will start out the weekend on completely even ground. It’s all up to the drivers at that point. May the best man or woman win. We adopted this unique format from Tyler County Speedway’s Black Diamond event. It’s just very unique and we think it will be very exciting. It’s a perfect fit for our two 2-hour telecasts of the event. We have had great feedback about the change so we are very excited about 2012.” Lester concluded.

The location for the FASTRAK World Championship has yet to be determined and will be announced once the negotiations are complete.
