Carnesville. Georgia – Officials of the FASTRAK Racing Series announced this week that they will restructure the City Chevrolet Weekly Championship Division for 2012. In an effort to boost the interest around the country for tracks and teams FASTRAK announced it will pay championship money to the top 3 drivers in points from each of the FASTRAK weekly sanctioned tracks in the country. Also FASTRAK announced an addition to the World Championship event which will be exclusively for the top 5 in points from each track. The FASTRAK Weekly World Challenge will be an invitational event which will have a full purse and will receive television coverage during the 2012 World Championships. “We really want to try to give our racetracks and race teams the best possible situation we can. These guys are people who work a regular job and then race for fun. We want to give them the most out of running with FASTRAK. We felt like changing the Weekly Championship would entice more tracks to become FASTRAK sanctioned and thereby more racers would be running for the money. I think what we have put together has really addressed that and we have already seen more interest as a result of that. The television coverage is another booster for our racers. We hope that will allow them to go out and get themselves more sponsorship dollars.” said FASTRAK Founder and CEO Stan Lester.
