CARNESVILLE, Ga. (June 29, 2010) – The FASTRAK Racing Series is gearing up for one of the biggest months of racing in series history. More than $100,000 will be on the line during the month of July as FASTRAK teams from across the country compete in eight big events, including three FASTRAK National Touring Series races.

The action kicks off this weekend with the $6,000-to-win FASTRAK Summer Nationals Saturday night at Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pa. The FASTRAK National Touring Series event will see drivers from all FASTRAK regions compete at the 3/8-mile oval.

This weekend’s race is the first FASTRAK National Touring Series event at Mercer. The FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series made two visits to Mercer last year, with Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., and David Scott of Garland, Pa., taking the victories. Mercer also hosted Night One of the 2009 FASTRAK Grand Nationals for the Northeast Region. Mike Pegher, Jr. of Cranberry Township, Pa., won that event ahead of Mike Blose and Blair.

The following weekend, West Virginia Motor Speedway will be the site of three FASTRAK races, including July’s highest paying event. The 5/8-mile oval in Mineral Wells, W. Va., will host the FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Valley Touring Series Friday night, June 9 for a scheduled $1,200-to-win race and a make-up feature from a rainout on May 16. Saturday night will see the inaugural West Virginia State Championship at WVMS. The one-day FASTRAK National Touring Series event will pay $10,000 to the winner.

West Virginia Motor Speedway is in its first year of FASTRAK sanctioning. The speedway has seen increased car counts at its FASTRAK City Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series events, and had a strong turnout for the inaugural FASTRAK touring race in May. The West Virginia State Championship will be the track’s first FASTRAK National Touring Series event.

The next week’s lone touring series event will be a FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series race at Tri-City Speedway in Franklin, Pa., on Sunday, July 18. The race will pay $1,200 to the winner.

The FASTRAK Old Man’s Garage Southeast Touring Series will return to action during the fourth weekend of July as the series visits the Old Dominion State for the inaugural Virginia State Championship. The two-race event will kick off Friday night, July 23 at Rolling Thunder Speedway in Ararat, Va., with a $2,000-to-win feature race. The action will then move to Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Va., Saturday night, July 24 for a $3,000-to-win event.

All of the FASTRAK Touring Series will come together for another FASTRAK National Touring Series event at the end of the month as FASTRAK drivers from across the country converge on the historic Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, on July 31 for the third annual Chassis Challenge. The event will be run entirely on Saturday night with qualifying and heat races setting the lineup for the $5,000-to-win feature race.
